Lesson 12
I AM THAT I AM
Now that you have mulled over and contemplated your life’s issues, in lesson twelve, we ask you not to identify yourself with them.
For instance, many people use the phrase “I am” wrong, when you use the phrase, I am, or I have, and you fill in: I am angry, I am wrong, I have pain, you name it, you identify your highest self with the issue and it is so, that as you identify yourself with the issue, you’ll become the issue.
And that is where the problem lies; this is how drama begins, and despair perpetuates it through identification with your role you become the issue.
And you cannot discriminate yourself from the issue, do you understand?
So you identify yourself with being a victim, you identify yourself with being a murderer.
Or you identify yourself with being wrong, or you identify yourself with having pain, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have feelings of pain, it doesn’t mean that you haven’t committed a crime, it doesn’t mean that.
Do you understand that, I do, I am is not the same as the experience these are two different things the:
I am, that I am
The issue you experience or feel
You may feel hurt. You may feel like a victim, but you are not, do you understand.
Great in your meditations; repeat this sentence I am that I am,.
During the 13 days between the new moon and the full moon, whenever you think of it, or whenever it comes up in your mind; I am, I am,.
No more no less, and as you meditate on the I am, you will see that the issues are receding, they are still there, but it is like you are looking from the outside in, or from the inside out, you can keep it at the distance and this is exactly what we want to achieve, you are not the experience, you are having an experience, but you are not becoming the experience, so that you lose consciousness of self.
You’ll become conscious of self, the I am, which never changes, it is steadfast it is eternal, it is always there but when you let the experience overshadowed the I am, you lose contact, you lose sight of self, I am that I am, use these words daily in your meditations and you will see that the change starts happening, that I am, I am that I am, you are not the experience, stop identifying yourself with the experience, you need to start identifying with the I am, that’s the only way to stop the drama, it is to remember who you are:
I am,
I am that I am.
You need to start identifying with the I am that you are, you are nothing else.
If you understand what we mean.
