The land of the Philistines – today’s Palestine – is special among the mentioned countries: This land always was outside, and independent, of the rest of Canaan, which was mostly taken by force by the Sons of Jacob («Children of Israel»); – it is the only one that never had a king out of these tribes: Once Philistina appears as an important ally of Israel (especially during one famine in Canaan, when ISAAK went to king ABDELMALIK for grain, instead of going down to Egypt; – another time, it is an ally of their enemies.

The Book of Jasher shows quite clearly – and by the writing of one of their own brethren – that the «children of Israel» really never had a legitimate claim for this country: Philistina was never part of Canaan, but a settlement of the Egyptians and Mediterranean’s (Pelasgians): the most prosperous country of the whole coastal part! The claim to possess this country is made by the “Children of Israel” on the basis of a so-called “promise of YAHWEH”, their tribal god. But YAHWEH’s “promise” was limited to the region west of the Jordan: Canaan.

To independent readers, it is interesting to find in Jasher two comments made about YAHWEH: Firstly that of the Egyptians, which led to the competition of the mages evoking the plagues (ten according to the Bible; – eighteen according to Jasher : Blood, frogs, lice, fiery serpents, flies, hornets, fleas, bugs, gnats – «each swarm according to its kind», like in Genesis during «creation», and when entering the Ark, then the sea-monster SULANUTH, then a pestilence: foot and mouth disease in all ruminants and in man. A «burning inflammation» in humans (like a Leishmaniasis); – boils in humans; hail, a «mingling fire» {blight} on cereals; locusts; – a hurricane ; – a darkness for three days, which immobilized people on the spot where they stood or were moving; – and, lastly, the passing of «the Lordꞌs Angels» who killed every first-born in Egypt, except those of the Children of Israel (= Pass-over): When MOSES and AARON demand that their god be integrated into the Egyptian Pantheon where he is unknown, they demand it in the name of their «God of the Hebrews» – hence: clearly a tribal god. Interestingly, to introduce themselves, they tame the lions which guard the palace entrance – a classical feature of the Brahman magi in Old India.

But the name of the god of Moses and Aaron is written in no book of the Pharaoh, nor known in any way to his scribes and wise men: «And the king {Pharaoh} … ordered … the book of records, the chronicles of the kings of Egypt, in which all the idols of Egypt {doubtlessly including the countries occupied by Egypt} were inscribed, for they thought of finding therein the name of Jehovah; but they found it not. And Pharaoh said to Mose and Aaron: Behold, I have not found the name of your god written in this book, and his name I know not {verbally: And who is that YAHWEH, that I should obey his voice? – Exod 5, 2}.

And the counsellors and wise men answered the king: We have heard that the god of the Hebrews is a son of the wise, the son of ancient kings {like Osiris}. And Pharaoh turned to Moses and Aaron and said to them: I know not the Lord whom you have declared, neither will I send his people. 

This sentence is answered in Jes 19, 11 – hence written later than 100 b.C.), by the following words: Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise Pharaoh has become brutish: How say ye unto Pharaoh, I {YAHWEH} am the son of the wise, the son of ancient Kings?  The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst of them and they have caused Egypt to er in every work…. hence:

YAHWEH is not the Lord.
